The test device consists of the SoToxa disposable test cassette containing test reagents and the SoToxa™ saliva collector. To perform a test, first insert the test cassette into the analyzer. Then a saliva sample is taken with the saliva collector. As soon as the \u003cb\u003eindicator has turned completely blue\u003c\/b\u003e, sufficient saliva has been collected. The saliva collector is then inserted into the test cassette. The saliva flows along by a \u003cb\u003ecapillary effect\u003c\/b\u003e and picks up labelled anti-drug antibodies in the process.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eDrug-protein conjugates have been applied to specific areas of the strip \u003c\/b\u003ein stripes that are invisible to the human eye. If there are no drugs in the sample solution, the \u003cb\u003eanti-drug antibody binds to the protein conjugate and forms a test line\u003c\/b\u003e. When a drug is detected, the formation of this complex is reduced, resulting in a weaker test line. The analyzer evaluates the intensity of the line on the test strips, then compares it to a predetermined\u003cb\u003e threshold of concentration curves\u003c\/b\u003e and reports qualitative test results. After completion of the test, the test results are displayed and can be printed if required.
