The test kit consists of the SoToxa disposable \u003cb\u003etest cassette\u003c\/b\u003e containing test reagents and SoToxa™ saliva collector. To perform a test, the test cassette is first inserted into the analyser. Then a saliva sample is taken with the saliva collector. Once the \u003cb\u003eindicator has turned completely blue\u003c\/b\u003e, sufficient saliva has been collected. The saliva collector is then inserted into the test cassette. The saliva \u003cb\u003eflows along by capillary effect and picks up labelled anti-drug antibodies\u003c\/b\u003e in the process.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\n\n\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eDrug-protein conjugates have been applied to specific areas\u003c\/b\u003e of the strip in stripes that are invisible to the human eye. If there are no drugs in the sample solution, the anti-drug antibody binds to the protein conjugate and \u003cb\u003eforms a test line\u003c\/b\u003e. In the presence of a drug, the formation of this complex is reduced, resulting in a weaker test line. The analyser evaluates the \u003cb\u003eintensity of the line on the test strips\u003c\/b\u003e, then compares it to a predetermined threshold of concentration curves and reports qualitative test results. When the test is complete, the test results are displayed and can be printed out if required.
